Know Your Customer (KYC) & Identity Verification Policy

This KYC Policy applies to the ALX rental marketplace platform ("Platform"). The Platform acts solely as an intermediary between Hosts and Guests and does not own, manage, or provide accommodation services. This Policy forms an integral part of the Terms of Service.

1. Scope

  • All Hosts receiving payouts
  • Guests using payment functionality
  • Any user interacting with financial flows on the Platform

2. Verification Model

ALX does not collect, store, or process identity documents. All identity verification (KYC) is performed by Stripe, a third-party payment provider. Stripe may request documents, perform checks, and make independent verification decisions.

3. User Obligations

  • Provide accurate personal information (name, email, phone)
  • Use valid payment methods
  • Complete Stripe verification if acting as a Host
  • Keep account information updated

4. Verification Triggers

  • Multiple accounts linked to one identity
  • Mismatch between user and payment details
  • Unusual booking behavior
  • Attempts to bypass Platform rules
  • High-risk activity signals

5. Payout Conditions

Payouts to Hosts are released only after successful completion of a stay (post check-out).

  • Successful Stripe verification
  • Absence of disputes or fraud suspicion
  • Compliance with Platform policies

6. Right to Withhold Funds

  • Suspected fraud
  • Ongoing disputes
  • Incomplete verification
  • Policy violations

7. Ongoing Monitoring

The Platform may conduct continuous monitoring of booking patterns, payment activity, and account behavior. Users may be subject to re-verification at any time.

8. Enforcement Actions

  • Suspend or terminate accounts
  • Block bookings
  • Restrict platform access
  • Delay or cancel payouts

9. Compliance with Laws

Users are responsible for complying with all applicable laws, including tax and rental regulations.

10. Liability

Users are fully responsible for the accuracy of their information. The Platform is not liable for fraudulent or incorrect user data.

11. Effective Date

This Policy is effective upon publication and may be updated at any time.
